Task 1 - UX Study ExerciseStudents are required to select an existing product or service and conduct a user experience (UX) analysis by identifying its key strengths and weaknesses. Based on the identified UX issues, students must propose practical design improvements that enhance usability and overall user satisfaction.
The study must be supported by a User Journey Map that visualizes user actions, emotions, pain points, and opportunities for improvement across the interaction stages.

Week 01:
This week we need to form a group of 4 and we need to do a proposal about UX Design, like choosing an area about any ux design problem they have, and then we try to find a solution to make the ux design better. After the discussion and group up with Yong,Terrance and Felita, We have some plan like:

After getting feedback from Mr. Sylvain, he suggested that we mix everything and make a Super Mall App. After doing some research which has a lot of problems, we plan to work on Lalaport. Because that place has very few people going so we assume that user experience for the user is not good at all.
Week 02:
This week, After the class is going on, we need to make a “5 minute presentation” and talk about an ux design problem and a small solution. So after some of the thinking, Mr Sylvain suggest no need to think about that complicated and just do about some very common happen in our surrounding which like sign for stair. So in the end I have decided to work on the lift in taylors. And also because Felicia didn’t get to join our class last week, so she joined our group and our group of 4 became 5 people.
We have made a slide on what we're gonna do and a proposal like what we're gonna planning on Project Topic, Issue and Goals.

After getting feedback from Mr Sylvain, he suggested that we make a visit to the mall this week then we will find out the problem we need to solve. So we did plan out this Saturday and found out some of the problems in Lalaport.
Saturday Research:
We met up at lalaport to work on our project and go to find anything wrong about this mall and make improvements there.

So, when I arrive at Lalaport, I need to meet up with my groupmate first. They mention that they are at the arcade area. But I don’t really know where the arcade area is so I tried out the directory machine they have and found out it's so hard to use.

We find out some problem about the directory and this way we can make some improvement about their directory. Other than that, I think we can make some changes about the sign box.

We find out that a lot of people confuse the area because all the information is outdated and it is very hard to find it out because a lot of areas are not mentioned and they still put it on the maps which confuse people.
Summary of the Problem in Lalaport:
Many people get confused because the information is outdated, missing unopened areas, and incorrect maps but still show them.
The current directory shows too many brands in one view. The typography is small, and colour contrast is weak.
After we try the Lalaport Directory Physically, The physical directory doesn’t have the “take with you” function, so after people look at the directory, they will be confused after a corner. The other point is the directory would now straight show directory, we need to scan the QR after we choose the place we want to go.
We Try out the Lalaport directory in their app. We find out the The physical directory boards and the mobile app feel like two separate systems.the user check the map on the board but can’t easily “continue” that search on their phone
Week 03:
We have a new idea other than making a Super app, which is to make the directory become more easy to use by the user and it opens the same map view on the LaLaport app or web version and the user continues their route in real time. Other than that, we will redesign the directory and app UI using consistent icons, colors, and typography.
Week 04:
We mostly work on finding 5 potential interviewers from lots of places like Lalaport, other malls, friends or people around who have been to Lalaport before.

This week we need to use the Interview we have done and create affinity maps and HMW Statements.

Week 06:
After the feedback given, we find out we should not mix the affinity map with the same colour so need to redo a version which should not use colour to unify everything and based the original. Other than that, we also create a Stakeholder map and 3 User Persona.
Week 07:
After the feedback given We need to make a bit of change of user persona and the affinity map. For affinity map we need to make it more simplified, and for the user persona need to make a lot of changes like adding a role for them, some of the detail and make some fo the point simple.
This week task will be adding User Journey map and making some change on affinity map and User Persona
Week 08:
This week we don't have actual feedback due to the activities taking too long a time. The activities make us find out what are the main points we need to know and target the right we are working on. After that we get to finalize our all of our user persona.
Week 09:
This week is the first presentation for our proposal. we showed the proposal before finalizing.
Week 10:
This week only begin doing the prototype. mostly is doing research on different app like sunway pyramid app, pavillion app, and ioiWeek 11-12:
This two week other mostly rush on what we have and combine everyone Hi-Fi. and fix some part of the it.So after I done my part, I try to help my other member on small animation part.
Week 13:
This week we did the first final presentation, I am not there due to my sick, Since I already know I am not going to join, so I done most of the final presentation slide by following the flow leader provide to me.Week 14:
This week mostly is working on final detail for the app and changing for the final slide after we have the app. So after Felicia consistancy all the part. I start my favourite part which is lining,Final Outcome:

At the same time, the biggest challenge was time management. Because I had multiple assignments happening at once, I sometimes had to make faster design decisions than I wanted. This affected how much user testing and iteration I could do, especially small details like micro-interactions, accessibility checks, and making every screen perfectly consistent. Even so, I’m proud that I still managed to complete a full journey from research to final UI, and I learned how important prioritization is in UX: focusing on the most critical tasks first, then polishing if time allows.
Overall, I enjoyed the process and I feel more confident building an app in a structured UX way. If I had more time, I would run more usability tests and improve the final details, but this project gave me a clear understanding of how research, design decisions, and user experience connect into one complete product.
