Before we started learning about stop-motion animation, we were asked to find  3 favorite ones and talk about why we like it.
.
Fig 1.1, Clay Boy Compilation
There's not much to explain, cute and funny video. Just really like the effort the creator make this character and very good stop-motion animation which can make me laugh for a while.

Fig 1.2,  Lost & Found | Oscar Shortlisted Stop-Motion Animation
I really felt the existential crisis, bliss, and ascension he was experiencing while his last bit of being was unraveling mid-flight to save his love. These kinds of short animations always make me feel like there should be some happy ending in the end, but all I get in the end is just an onion.

I remember first seeing this a few years ago when I was in middle school and thinking the animation was so cool, but now I'm rewatching it as an adult and seeing so much more unsettling symbolism that really speaks volumes in Current Year.

Stop Motion Animation
After we had an idea and tried to make stop-motion animation in class, I already had some ideas about making stop-motion animation.

So in my plan, I always like Spaghetti Western, this kind of heroic film that depicts the wild times of the American West and Mexico and has subverted the heroic image of traditional movies, forming a unique violent aesthetic type.

Work on and Editing:

So I spend quite a lot of time drawing all the material I need and cutting it out, and when ready I start do the shooting.

There is no picture when shooting because when I shoot for my stop motion, I use my phone for the whole shoot.

Reflections

This project is really fun and challenging for me. I don't really have a stable hand to make my stop-motion animation look stable. I also spent quite a lot of time getting all the material and drawing I needed even until I was a bit rushed on the shooting. I feel like my animation can make me better if having more time. Overall, the experience in making and shooting stop-motion animation is really fun.
