Reflections

Experience:
Throughout my 14 weeks of Design Research Methodology, it was not as fun as I initially expected. In my mind, I thought Design Methodology would be like last semester, Intercultural design we gonna do research about some things we are interested in and then design some things for it. but in this module, We gonna do research for the entire semester, that's not the bad part for me, Research is still good we can learn some things about that. the worst part is when I hear we need to have a minimum of 80 people respond when we do the research for primary research. In my life maybe didn't learn about like 50 people, it made me feel quite despair when we were on task 3 which was collecting data. In the end, it's quite good luck I get enough responses for my research. other than that, I think this class is pretty nice, I am very grateful to Miss Anis, who is very chill and a very helpful lecturer in my assignment. Overall, Design Research Methodology is quite a stressful class when doing data collection by it is quite interesting when collecting data for the research and getting to see other people's opinions and perspectives. Everyone's Opinion is very interesting and unique with their own style.

Observation:
For my proposal discussion, I quite suffer a lot in choosing my own topic for the research. So I do a lot of research about UI/UX Design and refer to some of the past year's ideas. Then I got an idea that is quite interesting and really something I am wondering and interested in which is about e-commercials. After I decided on my topic I spent use so much time observing on the internet and ideas from my friends. Everyone has their own idea and perspective to support the point. The hard part will be writing the critical review, which is needed to study lots of articles and choose some that are not over 5 years ago and have a lot of good points. I found out that finding a good research paper has so many ways other than just searching from the book, and it's pretty hard to find a point when the topic is very specific when time passes, there are a lot of articles that are so nice but its pass through 5 years ago and cannot be used. Sometimes I just think did people randomly write about different stuff in articles in the end I find out most of the weird research is real. Every person in this world has a different perspective and a different idea.

Findings:
Throughout my 14 weeks of Design Research Methodology, I have found out how to analyze a problem, do research, collect data, and get a straight answer for my problem. I have found out that UI/UX design as a topic was more interesting than I thought, There are so many different aspects I could find out and there are so many variants in UI/UX Design. I also found out that when I have a problem, I should straight ask for help from my lecturer or classmate, they are really helpful when I am struggling in my work. I was always afraid and shy to ask the lecturer for help because I was afraid they would scold me for not listening to class and others were afraid of wasting their time. but in this class, Miss is so chill and really motivates me to do my project. Other than that, I find it, quite interesting to do research, can learn about so many people in their different opinions and perspectives. Overall, Design Method Methodology is quite a very insightful and interesting module that taught me so much about doing good research and data collecting. I hope the knowledge that I learn from her can be used in my future assignments or work and make me become a better person.
